I’m so excited to announce my book is now available on Amazon!
“Your body is a temple and a healthy lifestyle enhances your body, your mind, your outlook and your vibe, ultimately resetting to a New you!” The Afrofusion Lifestyle concept is inspired by these wise words, my personal weight loss, health gain and healthy living journey as a woman of West African origin coupled with my professional background as Senior Lecturer in Obesity Management, Clinical Pharmacist and Certification in Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr Phyllis Muffuh Navti
My mission is to empower members of my community to prioritize healthier lifestyles by debunking myths including:
- Ethnic food must be “swimming” in oil to taste delicious
- We must consume large portions to stay healthy or ask for seconds to show appreciation
- It is difficult/impossible to reduce your risk of diabetes, stroke and other long term conditions associated with being overweight especially for people of African origin
- The only way to lose weight as a busy professional of ethnic origin is either by going hungry & feeling lethargic on fad regimented diets based on bland meals and certainly not the meals you grew up eating and love
- Resting /relaxing is a sign of laziness
- You need at least 45 minutes in a gym and to be dressed in sports attire to keep fit/lose weight
These myths are debunked in this book which is a masterclass on how to reset/realign the body and mind to achieve a holistic and sustained fitter, healthier and happier lifestyle for yourself and your family.
It is the first ever interactive guidebook that utilises education to empower and enable a holistic healthier lifestyle for any busy professional keen to reset to a healthier lifestyle, lose weight, get fitter, healthier and happier and maintain it long term, whilst still enjoying delicious meals filled with the flavours and based on the principles of the African heritage diet.
The book illustrates the Afrofusion lifestyle concept which is an integration and celebration of West African heritage nutritional principles, international cuisine and five prime pearls that amalgamate to produce unprecedented holistic and sustained healthy lifestyle changes for the entire family and community. Furthermore, unlike most conventional diets that exclude African flavours, textures and socio-cultural considerations, this book bridges that gap.
The Afrofusion meal guide and simple recipes ensure that every meal you cook is delicious, nourishing, fulfilling & wholesome and can be enjoyed by the entire family, ensuring easy integration into your lifestyle. Do not be surprised if your teenagers soon start offering to cook the meals with or for you as is happening to most clients who follow the meal prep guides that has you happily cooking and dancing to afrobeats!
